On September 1, 2026, Yardley Borough Council unanimously approved Gather Place’s grassroots initiative presented by Shirley Lee Corsey, to officially name the pavilion in his honor. That historic vote secured a lasting tribute. Our next step is underway with the design and creation of permanent signage and interpretive resources that bring his extraordinary legacy to life.
A Shared Commitment to Yardley
Experience Yardley’s commitment to community events, placemaking, authentic arts and culture, and promoting our town makes this project a natural opportunity for collaboration.
Led by Shirley Lee Corsey of Gather Place, a third-generation Yardley Borough resident, this initiative will transform a familiar gathering place into a more meaningful destination. It will celebrate Yardley Borough’s character and untold history, strengthen community connections, and invite residents and visitors from across Bucks County and Pennsylvania to explore our town and support local businesses.
For someone visiting for an afternoon, a weekend—or someone whose family has lived here for generations, this landmark will offer a distinctive experience rooted in the people and history of Yardleyville (est. 1682)
Gather Place plans to create and install:
• Permanent Mayor Edward E. Robinson Memorial Pavilion signage.
• A professionally designed interpretive educational stand featuring archival photographs, biographical information, and community recollections.
• A QR code connecting visitors to oral histories and digital educational resources for students, educators, seniors, veterans, families, residents, and out-of-town guests.
The interpretive resources will also share the chronology of Yardley Borough’s mayors, beginning with Chief Burgess Algernon S. Cadwallader in 1895 to our current Mayor. A simple phone scan will open the door to familiar and lesser-known stories of our Borough’s civic life.
