 Step into the world of Harriet Tubman in this immersive Gather Place Museum - First-Person Presentation. 

Experience her incredible journey through adversity as she leads others to freedom, fights for justice, and provides refuge. This captivating 45-minute performance, followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A, brings history to life as Mrs. Tubman herself recounts her transformation from 'Minty' to the fearless leader known as 'Harriet.' Discover a powerful story of resilience, bravery in the Civil War, women’s rights activism, and unwavering compassion.

Perfect for all ages, this engaging presentation is an ideal addition to Black History and Women’s History Month events. Shirley Lee Corsey’s compelling portrayal leaves audiences inspired and deeply moved.

 Join us for an engaging Gather Place Museum Lecture,  We will explore the extraordinary life and legacy of Harriet Tubman. Delivered through a dynamic Microsoft PowerPoint presentation by Shirley Lee Corsey. This very interesting 

45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A, 

This lecture brings Tubman’s incredible story to audiences with powerful visuals, historical images, and compelling storytelling conversations. We trace her journey from her early years as “Minty” to her fearless leadership on the Underground Railroad, her bravery during the Civil War as a scout and nurse, and her lifelong fight for justice and women’s rights. Gain insight into the struggles she overcame, the lives she changed, and the lasting impact of her work.

Ideal for all ages, this inspiring and educational presentation is perfect for Black History and Women’s History Month events, leaving audiences enlightened, uplifted, and motivated by Tubman’s enduring legacy.

LECTURE: BUCKS COUNTY AND THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD

Date:  Saturday, February 22, 2025 

Time: 2pm - 3pm

Location: Gather Place Museum

 Join us for this engaging Gather Place Museum Lecture. This 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute interactive Q&A. allow audiences to delve deeper into Bucks County's Underground Railroad legacy, through an open discussion following the lecture. Together we will

discover the crucial role of Bucks County in the Underground Railroad including focus on Yardley Borough and other sites around Bucks County! This presentation explores the early Quaker village’s proximity to the Delaware River and unveils documented and speculated stops. From the early 1800s to 1865, Quakers, free African Americans, and abolitionists facilitated escapes northward, even to Canada. Despite its name, the Underground Railroad utilized various transportation methods. The bravery of figures like Harriet Tubman is highlighted. The event concludes with a tribute to African American Civil War veterans buried at Lower Makefield Township’s Slate Cemetery, emphasizing their enduring legacy.

"Voices of the Past: Slavery, Resistance & Justice in Pennsylvania" BLACK HISTORY MONTH PROGRAM

  Join Us for a Powerful Black History Month Program at Pennsbury Manor**Gather Place Museum is honored to collaborate!** 📅 Date: February 23rd   ⏰ Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM   📍 Location: Pennsbury Manor  | 400 Pennsbury Memorial Rd, Morrisville, PA 19067 | 🎟 Free admission. Donations encouraged.   🔍 Learn about slavery in Pennsylvania with Doug Miller, Pennsbury Manor’s Director, and the challenges Quakers faced as their ideals of equality conflicted with the institution of slavery.   🎭 Experience a dramatic reenactment of the 1688 Germantown Quaker Petition Against Slavery, the first formal protest against slavery by a religious body in the thirteen colonies.   🎙 Witness Gather Place Museum's first-person portrayal of Susanna Warder, an enslaved woman at Pennsbury Manor from 1701 to 1810. **Shirley Lee Corsey, Gather Place Museum's Director **, will also share stories of African American contributions to Yardley Borough, Bucks County and Beyond, connecting local history to broader themes of justice and equality.   Join us for an afternoon of history, reflection, and meaningful discussion. Our Programs: Serving Bucks County & beyond!

 Our programs are available all year round! - feature engaging historical, educational, yet entertaining first-person reenactments, and lectures available for groups of 10 or more, including school classes, libraries, senior centers, and community organizations. You can choose to host these sessions at your location or ours. Check out our program reviews!

**Lecture Programs**  

- **Cost**: $250 for each one-hour session held at Gather Place Museum.

- **Inclusions**: Interactive audience participation (Q&A), handouts, and a dynamic learning experience.

- **Group/Assembly Pricing**: Available for larger groups.

 **First-Person Programs**  

- **Cost**: $500 per session at our location, providing an immersive, live portrayal.

**Program at Your Location**  

- We are happy to bring any program to you. An additional $50 travel fee applies.

**Virtual Programs**  

- Lecture programs are also available via Zoom for flexible, remote access.
