📢🕰️ Women’s History Weekend Success! 🏛️ History Unfolded

This past April 2024, attendees embarked on our inaugural Bucks County Women's History Bus Tour at two historic Bucks County Locations, presenting three amazing events!

aT gather place!

Successful Program: Harriet Tubman - Live! Attendees were captivated by Shirley Lee Corsey’s first-person portrayal of Harriet Tubman, experiencing her remarkable journey from childhood enslavement to self-emancipation. They learned about her heroic efforts as she became Moses to her people, making repeated trips back south to free even more individuals. The presentation also highlighted Tubman's roles as a Civil War hero, humanitarian, and suffragette, while revealing the many other influential figures she encountered. The event was both exciting and educational, offering a compelling and informative look into Tubman’s extraordinary long life!

aT Pennsbury Manor!

Successful Program: Meet Susanna Warder and "The Mansion Tour"

The journey took us to the historic Pennsbury Manor, William Penn's Country Estate, where historian educators guided us through the late 1600s. We delved into the lives of Pennsylvania founders, influential women, and the Lenape Native Americans, who were the original inhabitants of this land.. We also explored the life of Susanna Warder presented as a first-person narrative by Shirley Lee Corsey, based on primary sourced research by Mary Ellen Kunz and Kerry Depraida; former and current Pennsbury Manor, Education Program Coordinators!

aT gather Place!

Successful Program: Celebrating Notable First Ladies of the USA

Our program featured a captivating PowerPoint presentation with highly engaging visuals showcasing the iconic outfits and achievements of notable First Ladies of the United States. We began with Mrs. Martha Washington, the nation’s first First Lady, and concluded with our first African American First Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama. The lecture, narrated by our portrayal of Mrs. Obama, provided an insightful and educational exploration of these remarkable FLOTUS through America' history!
