Overview

This 1-hour program pays homage to Harriet Tubman’s courage and legacy, offering audiences inspiring ways to connect with her incredible story. This immersive, first-person performance is uniquely crafted to captivate, educate and entertain. Program Group Cost: $500 (up to 40 people per show, your place or ours - Email us your request). Experience Harriet Tubman’s story in this one-woman, four-scene, historical-based reenactment, created and performed by Gather Place Museum’s Shirley Lee Corsey. Corsey’s portrayal vividly captures Tubman’s life journey, from her childhood as “Minty” to her later years as the renowned “Moses” of her people. Through subtle costume changes reflecting each time period, Corsey brings audiences face-to-face with Tubman’s bravery, compassion, and relentless pursuit of freedom. This 45-minute performance is followed by an interactive Q&A session, where audiences are invited to explore Tubman’s life and legacy further.  See our Program reviews!  Program Highlights:

She presented this reenactment performance, designed to educate and inform about the Underground Railroad & the "Freedom Fighters" including Frederick Douglass, William Still, William Lloyd Garrison, John Brown, Sojourner Truth, & Lucretia Mott. "Harriett" provides highlights about herself and these brave abolitionists!
